Harry Potter Party

My friend Heather and I have been trying to stick to monthly parties with the kids. October was Halloween, and November was Harry Potter. Between Sean and I, we whizzed through the first two books in less than a month, I think.
The kids loved it, especially Owen.
Heather is amazing at setting up this stuff and we seem to be falling into a routine of getting these parties set up. Our next one is Dr. Suess, but I am especially looking forward to the one after that... Pioneer Stuff... aka Little House!!  Alison desperately wants a bonnet for Christmas... but Old Navy doesn't seem to be carrying them this year.

Homeschool Halloween

We recently went to a friend's house for a
Halloween Party. Here's a quick video of Alison competing in the donut eating contest.

Introducing Alison

Alison is resourceful. I give her something small, and she takes it all the way. We found a book at the library about painting rocks. She loved the one that looked like a hamburger. After painting a hamburger rock, she painted other foods. Owen added a few chocolate chip cookies. She gathered it all together, put it in a picnic basket and spread it all on a blanket with cloth napkins from the kitchen. All I did was take her to the library.

Introducing Owen

Owen: Why did the dog want a piece of toast?
Me: I don't know, why?
Owen: Because he was a purebred.
Me: Did you make that up?
Owen: Yep. I got it from aisle 9 of Owen's Head.
